Available Performances

Below are listed the currently available performances by Destination Theatre Company's Traveling Troupe.  The prices listed at the end of the description are if there is NOT a love offering taken during the service or event.  If a love offering is taken, there is no other fee for the performances above the love offering.  As stated on the booking information page, if an overnight trip is required for a performance, the cost of the overnight stay is in addition to either the set fee or the love offering.  If a drama is desired that is on a theme not listed, please contact the theatre company with your desired theme.  While we currently rehearse primarily the scripts listed below, we do have access to many more scripts which can be prepared if desired with appropriate lead time.  By following the links, you will be taken to a page with script excerpts and, if available, pictures of the selected performance.

CURRENT FEATURED PERFORMANCE:  What's Your Favorite Part...--15-20 minutes--Christmas, The Reason for the Season--This original dramatic comedy looks at a family who replaces the true meaning of Christmas with all of the things that we all love about the season:  the plays, the music, the food and the tree.  In the end, it is the youngest member of the family, together with the reading of Luke Chapter 2, that reminds everybody about their Favorite Part.  Price without love offering:  $200.

Abraham and Sarah--25-30 minutes--Commitment, Sacrifice--This is a duologue featuring Abraham and Sarah and their thoughts and feelings particularly about the sacrifice of their son, Isaac.  Price without love offering:  $200.

Adjective Salesman--5-10 minutes--Accepting self--This comedy shows one man's attempts to change people into who he thinks they want to be.  Price without love offering:  $75.

End of the Beginning--5 minutes--Resurrection--This human video tells the story of someone who gets to tell the story of Christ to a stranger he meets in an airport.  Price without love offering:  $35.

Lazarus, Come Forth--7 minutes--Healing, Miracles, Lazarus--This is a human video to Carman's song "Lazarus, Come Forth".  Price without love offering:  $45.

Loose Connections--10-15 minutes--Meeting God--This drama/comedy takes place in the waiting area of a car service facility where a busy mom has an unexpected visit with Jesus.  Price without love offering:  $125.

Peter--20-25 minutes--Passion week, Communion--This is a monologue of the passion week through the eyes of Simon Peter.  It starts with the Triumphal Entry and ends with the Resurrection.  This presentation also includes taking the congregation through communion if desired.  Price without love offering:  $150.

The Lord's Prayer--5-10 minutes--Prayer--This drama shows how you have to be careful what you pray for by showing a person who is doing their "religious duty" and gets interrupted by God.  Price without love offering:  $90.

The Parable of the Lighthouse--10-15 minutes--Persistence, Church-ese--This drama, based on a story by Theodore Wedel and Richard Wheatcroft, shows how the owners of a lighthouse decide to expand and then loose their true vision...over and over again.  Price without love offering:  $125.

The Tale of the Three Trees--10-15 minutes--Life of Jesus--This drama, adapted from an American folk tale, shows how three trees get their wishes to be a treasure chest, a part of a grand boat and a grand tree.  However, they don't get their wishes in quite the way they had planned.  Rather than holding gold, holding an earthly king, or being a majestic tree, they all end up holding Jesus at some point in His life.  Price without love offering:  $125.

Two Men Walking Up a Hill--5-10 minutes--Rapture, Being Ready--This shows two mountain climbers and the results of the Rapture on the one left behind.  This skit requires the use of an accessible balcony railing.  Price without love offering:  $90.

Watch the Lamb--8 minutes--Passion week--This human video is to Ray Boltz' song "Watch the Lamb."  Price without love offering:  $90.

What Would Jesus Do--6 minutes--This two-person human video is to Julie Miller's song "What Would Jesus Do." Price without love offering:  $90.

Witch's Invitation--5 minutes--Dealing with occults, Halloween--This is a human video to Carman's song "Witch's Invitation"  Price without love offering:  $75.

In addition to these individual performances Full Services or Events, up to 2 hours, can be planned for a price of $300 to $400 depending on the length desired.  These performances will also include some lighter human videos and dramas not listed here as well as musical numbers between the dramatic pieces.  The set price, as with the individual dramas, is if there is no love offering taken.  If a love offering is taken as part of the service or event, the set price is waived.
