Accountant The accountant(s) of a performance have the following responsibilities. 1) They are the bookkeepers of the production.  They are responsible for recording all of the income and outgo for the production.  They usually, as a means of error-checking and preserving integrity, will not actually handle any of the money but will only record information that they are given in standard accounting formats. 2) They are hired directly by the producer or business manager and report directly to the business manager. 3)  They are usually paid by means of a salary.
