October 2008 Newsletter
Our First Online Playwriting Workshop is Successfully Underway
As was mentioned in the August newsletter, we are holding our first
ever online workshop...this year featuring our Destination: Playwriting
Workshop. The Destination: Playwriting workshop is designed to
take students through the Destination: Playwriting Unit Guide from
concept through completion of a play.
This year's workshop has three participants who, with the instructor,
meet online weekly to work through the creation of a dramatic work.
Due to the objectives of the three students this semester, the current
class is focusing on the process of adapting an existing work for use in
a home-school co-op high school drama class.
We hope to continue offering courses online in playwriting and
possibly other subjects too. Other possible subjects could include
History of Drama, Character or Script Analysis, Technical Theatre and
other theory-based subjects in theatre.
If you have an idea for a class that would be good for an online
class, if you are interested in participating in the next playwriting
class or if you would bee interested in participating in one of the
other classes mentioned above, contact the theatre.
Our current class continues through December 2008. Watch for
future classes soon!
