This Year's One Act Plays

Today's Good Samaritan

Description of the Play:

Jesus once told a story about an injured Jew who was helped by a man Jews classified as an outcast. What would that story look like today?

Description of the Characters and the cast:

Narrator: Anyone with a good voice. Sets the stage and draws the conclusion--Portrayed by John Christian

Attackers: Two anonymous thugs, dressed in black. Improv some lines if needed--Portrayed by Levi Farr and Forrest Thrasher

Victim: Man in suit or sports coat with briefcase. No lines except groans--Portrayed by Brad Lafferty

Passer-By One: Dressed like the victim. But shows no sympathy at all--Portrayed by Shawn Ray

Passer-By Two: The opportunist. Totally self-centered--Portrayed by Nicole Salazar

Passer-By Three: The religious Pharisee--Portrayed by Janet Christian

Baglady: Humble and a little wacky, but she cares and helps--Portrayed by Stacey Lafferty
