This Year's One Act Plays

Today's Good Samaritan

Description of the Play:

Jesus once told a story about an injured Jew who was helped by a man Jews classified as an outcast. What would that story look like today?

Description of the Characters:

Narrator: Anyone with a good voice. Sets the stage and draws the conclusion.

Attackers: Two anonymous thugs, dressed in black. Improv some lines if needed.

Victim: Man in suit or sports coat with briefcase. No lines except groans.

Passer-By One: Dressed like the victim. But shows no sympathy at all.

Passer-By Two: The opportunist. Totally self-centered.

Passer-By Three: The religious Pharisee

Baglady: Humble and a little wacky, but she cares and helps.
