2007 Year-End Review
People
Prior to 2007, our
individual cast sizes had been ten for The Diary of Anne Frank and
9 (with 8 of them new) for If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek
Don't Rise. In 2007, our cast sizes grew dramatically with 13
involved in our first One Act Competition and Dessert Auction, over 40
involved in Charlotte's Web-The Musical and more than 20 involved
in Winnie the Pooh for a total of over 60 people involved in our
casts and crews for the year. A little simple mathematics would show
that more than 2/3's of our 2007 cast and crew were in their DTC
debut during the year.
However, the cast and crew numbers don't show the most
exciting part of our people involvement for 2007. That honor goes to
our audiences. For The Diary of Anne Frank we had a capacity
of about 75 per night for the six performances and averaged about 50 per
performance for a total of about 300. For If the Good Lord's
Willing and the Creek Don't Rise we had a much larger capacity but
still only about 200-300 attended the four performances. Our numbers
are not as exact for that production because some of the audience members
attended for a donation only and, as such, did not have a ticket for us to
count. However, for our 2007 One-Act Competition, which was a
one-night event, we had a capacity crowd of about 80 people in our small
space convincing us that we need a bigger space for this year's
event. For our first dinner theatre musical production of Charlotte's
Web we had a capacity of 104 for each of the 5 performances. Not
only did we have a total attendance of nearly 500, three of the
performances were completely sold out and between the other two
performances we had about 15 seats remaining. Finally, for Winnie
the Pooh we were back in a smaller space with a seating capacity of
about 90 for each of the three performances (that was placing chairs from
wall-to-wall with a small center aisle and very little space in the front
and back) and we ended the weekend run with about 25 seats unsold and a
final performance with additional audience members standing in the back of
the space. Information gathered from audience members combined with
comments indicate that many of the audience members attended multiple
performances throughout the year however, especially at Charlotte's Web
many people attended who had never attended one of our shows...including a
group from Central Illinois and several from the southeastern United
States.
Thank you all of you for your continued support of this
organization. It is only through your support that we can continue.
