Ushers

The ushers of a performance have the following responsibilities.

1) They assist audience members with finding their correct seat, distributing programs and directing audience members to necessary areas of the facility.

2) They are hired directly by the business manager or house manager and report directly to the house manager.

3)  They are usually paid hourly and may be a permanent employee of the theater building itself rather than the production company.  In that case, their pay would be a part of the facility rental paid by the production company.
