Director

The director of a performance has the following responsibilities.

1) They are responsible for the actual performance...from casting the show, to staging the show, to approving of design concepts.  It is their responsibility to help ensure that the performance is excellent in all areas.

2) They are hired directly by the producer and report directly to the producer.

3)  They are usually paid by means of a contract, usually worth a percentage of the gross proceeds of the performance.
