Here's our All-Star Cast from J.B. A Play in Verse. All bios reflect the participant's most recent production with DTC.

Bob Beck in the 2009 dinner theatre production of J.B.--Bob, who studied acting with John Wilkes Booth, has been attempting to redeem the profession since the death of Lincoln.  His "A" work includes Acting Your Age, The Adding Machinew, Adrift in the Cruel World, Ah Wilderness, All My Sons, American Primitive, Anna Kleiber, Annie Get Your Gun, The Apple Tree, and Auntie Mame.  He performed Shakespeare in the park until he got mugged; authored The Edward G. Robinson Encyclopedia; and married Suzie, his favorite lighting designer; subsequently fathering two professional stage hands and four dancers.  They gave him six grandchildren--with two on the way!  J.B. marks Bob's first DTC production but his second time playing the devil.
Rhonda Bishop in the 2009 dinner theatre production of J.B.--Rhonda is a 2nd grade teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools. She has previously performed with Family Musical Theatre in Anything Goes (2008), Brigadoon (2007), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2006) for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Cameo Role.  This is her first performance with DTC and she is enjoying herself tremendously.

Elizabeth Carver in the 2009 Dinner Theatre production of J.B.--Elizabeth is 8 years old with a passion for people and animals. She is very excited to be back with DTC after performing in last summer's production of A Christmas Carol. She was also in Charlotte's Web as a baby spider and few barn animals.  Elizabeth has a continuous flow of imagination which she will gladly share with anyone who will indulge her.

Janet Christian in the 2009 dinner theatre production of J.B.--Janet is in her third production with DTC having appeared in the 2009 One Act Competition; and as Solicitor 1, the Maid and the Costume Mistress in the 2008 Dinner Theatre production of A Christmas Carol. Janet recently retired as an Accountant for the IL State Fire Marshal in Springfield, IL. She has worked with costumes and/or back stage on most of the productions for DTC. She was in several church plays during high school, played the part of the chambermaid in The Gospel According to Scrooge and been in several musical productions at Calvary Temple in Springfield, IL. She has assisted with costumes and back stage at several Muni (Springfield IL) productions and church productions. Janet is Kristy Moore's mother and is excited to join her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren "on stage" for this production. Her hobbies include sewing and reading and she loves to swim. Janet married John Christian in October 2008.

John Christian in the 2009 Dinner theatre production of J.B.--John is retired. With DTC, John has been in Tilly, the 2008 One Act Competition, A Christmas Carol and the 2009 One Act Competition.  He has a special fondness for Tilly because it was during that production that he met Janet, who became his wife in October, 2008.  He is using his carpentry skills to build some of the set pieces for J.B.

John has 9-year-old twin grandsons who live with his older son and daughter-in-law in the Seattle area.  His younger son works for Google but is soon moving to Colorado Springs to develop robot designs.  His marriage to Janet has brought him a step-daughter, a step-son and three more grandchildren; Isaac, Rebekah and Rachel.

Sophia Griep in the 2009 dinner theatre production of J.B.--Sophia is 11-years-old entering the 6th grade.  Her interests include reading, acting, dancing, singing and writing songs.  In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends.  Sophia's theatre experience includes Winnie the Pooh, A Christmas Carol, HONK!, Big, and the 2009 One Act Competition.  Sophia's favorite think about DTC (besides being on stage, of course) are the many friendships she makes during the productions.

Andrew Lafferty as the stage manager for the 2009 Dinner Theatre production of J.B.--Andrew is a 19-year-old from St. Charles County, Missouri.  He is currently a junior at Missouri Baptist University and plans to get his Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry followed by a Master's degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO.  Andrew has been called by God to the ministry as either a local pastor or an abroad missionary.  In his free time he helps our at his church, Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles, every chance he gets and spends time with his friends.  Theatre-wise, he has either been in, worked backstage on or directed over 30 plays and 15 musicals and has been involved in theater since he was 5.   Andrew has also worked backstage for our productions of If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise, Charlotte's Web-The Musical, Tilly and last summer's A Christmas Carol.  He also directed shows in both the 2007 and 2008 One Act Play Competition.

Brad Lafferty in the 2009 Dinner Theatre Production of J.B.--Brad is from Saint Louis, Missouri, and now lives in Saint Charles with his wife and two children.  He works for General Motors where he is a Chaplain for UAW Local 2250.  He is also a member of Grace Baptist Church where he sings in the choir and speaks in the Nursing Home Ministry and is currently seeking a Master's degree in Church Ministry from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO.

Brad would love to tell you that he has had a lifelong passion for the theatre (because that would make for riveting reading), but, truth be told, prior to his DTC experience, he's been in three plays and, at best, a half-dozen youth group skits in his whole life.  In fact, if his daughter wasn't studying theatre, he probably wouldn't go to too many plays, either.  He's not here to be a part of the sales department.  What he is here for is this...anytime anyone is willing to commit themselves to engaging our culture in the name of Christ, he's behind them.  He says, for too long we Christians have sat idly by while others have taken the arts away from their original purpose...to praise and glorify God.  He believes this world needs, more than ever, people willing to step out, in faith, and proclaim the goodness and majesty of God to a lost and dying world, and that the theatre is a very good place to start.  Our God is a creator...let us also be creative as we worship Him.  His DTC production experience consists of playing Doc  in If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise, directing The Conference in the 2007 One-Act Competition, playing the doctor in Samuel and Dinah also in the 2007 One-Act Competition, playing the doctor in our production of Charlotte's Web and directorial and (non-speaking) acting roles in the 2009 One Act Competition where his play The Challenge won best original play.  Brad also worked backstage for our productions of Tilly and A Christmas Carol.

Leah Martin in the 2009 Dinner Theatre Production of J.B.--Leah is in her DTC Debut but not her first play overall.  She has been in a couple musicals at White Cliff in Crestwood and has done a lot of church dinner theater productions over the last several years.  Some of her favorites are If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise and Kiss Me, Kate.  She has helped with a lot of behind the scenes stuff plus with tickets, food, concessions, etc.  She thanks her husband, Ray, for supporting her and getting her into this play.

Ray Martin as the second Soldier, Reporter, Police Officer and Civil Defense Officer and Zophar in the 2009 Dinner Theatre Production of J.B.--Ray has been doing dinner theatre and other plays at his church for many years.  The last 10 years, he has also been doing community theatre, mainly in Crestwood.  He has been in over a dozen shows, many performing beside his son or daughter and occasionally his wife.  Each part has been great but some of his favorites were Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jerry in George M! and the mysterious man in Into the Woods.  He has enjoyed working with DTC because of the spiritual bond between them.  In real life he has his own actuarial consulting practice.  His hobbies include scuba diving and raising seahorses.  He gives thanks to the Lord for "I can do all things through Him."  He want to especially thank his wife, Leah, for putting up with the crazy rehearsal schedules.  Ray's DTC experience includes Mr. Bendix in Tilly, performed in the 2008 One Act Competition, and as Bob Cratchit in the 2008 Dinner Theatre production of A Christmas Carol..
