Tammy Harris, Original Board Member
Tammy Sheri Harris, 36, of Rogersville MO, passed into the
presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 30, 2004 at Cox
Walnut Lawn in Springfield, MO following a long illness.
She is survived by her husband, David Wayne Harris, of the
home; her parents, Woodvall and Sally Moore of Springfield; her brother
and sister-in-law, Allen and Kristy Moore of St. Louis; her husband's
parents Dewayne and Susie Harris, and his sister Deanna Harris of
Springfield. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles on
both sides of her family also survive her.
Tammy was born December 8, 1967, in Versailles, KY.
Tammy gave her life to Christ at a very early age and was a member of
Central Assembly of God where she attended for more than 29 years.
She attended Springfield Public Schools and graduated from Hillcrest High
School in 1985. She graduated from Evangel University with a degree
in education in 1989 and received her Master's degree, also from Evangel,
in 2000.
Tammy began her teaching career at Birchtree Elementary
School in Birchtree, MO, in 1990. She taught 12 years at Norwood
Middle School where she was employed until her passing. She viewed
teaching middle school students as a ministry unto God. She touched
the lives of hundreds of children in her classroom. Her humor and
wit with her warm friendship made her a favorite of many students.
Memorials may be made to the Tammy Harris Endowed
Scholarship fund at Evangel University.
