"All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and
lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
These are the words of Jesus from Matthew 28:18-20
-
"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly
beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works
within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to
all generations forever and ever, Amen. Therefore I, the
prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the
calling with which you have been called."
- And
these are the words of Paul, while in prison, to the church at
Ephesus in Ephesians 3:20-4:1. These two scriptures sum up
Destination Theatre Company's purpose for existence We are in
the "business" of saving lives from eternity in
Hell. The way we do that is by following our calling...through
the use of the art of theatre.
Is
it necessary to be saved from Hell?
The
Bible repeatedly says "yes." Romans 3:23 says,
-
"for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
and
Romans 6:23 says,
-
"For
the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord."
That
"death" is literally eternal separation from God in Hell, but
the eternal life is life with Christ in Heaven.
How
am I saved?
It
as simple as ABC. You Admit, Believe and Confess. First, you
Admit that you are a sinner. (See Romans 3:23 above) Second,
you must believe that Jesus died to save you. Third you must
confess that Jesus is Lord. Romans 10:9 says,
-
That
if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe
in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
All
of these three points can be communicated with this simple prayer.
Heavenly
Father, I know that I have sinned. I'm sorry. I believe
that you sent Jesus to die for my sins that I might be
forgiven. I accept your forgiveness. Today, I begin a
new life as a new person in you. Thank you for Your gift to
me. Amen.
If
you prayed that prayer, and truly meant it from your heart,
congratulations! You are now a member of God's family.
But
you don't know what I've done in my past. God could never have me
in His family.
You're
right. I don't know what you've done in your past. And if it
was up to what we had done in our past, none of us would be able to
spend eternity with Christ. However, it is not up to us.
Ephesians 2:8 says,
"For
by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves, it is a gift of God."
Psalms
103:12 says,
"for
as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our
transgressions from us."
This
verse is saying that once you have been saved and asked for forgiveness
of your sins, your sins are removed from you as far as they can
be. In fact, the Bible even says that God forgets about the sins
completely.
What
do I do now?
Now,
I would encourage you to do three things. 1) Tell somebody
you know who is a Christian. If you don't know who to tell, you
can let us here at DTC know via email.
We won't contact you unless you want us to but we will pray for
you. Telling someone else will help give you an accountability
partner and a helper in your new life. 2) Get involved in a
bible-believing church in your area. If you don't know where to
go, let us know and we'll help you as much as possible. Getting
involved with a community of believers will also help you to grow in
your new relationship. 3) Get a Bible and start reading
it. Again, if you don't have a Bible and don't have the means to
get one, let us know and we will make sure you have one to read.
Reading the Bible, the Christian's guide in life, will also help you
grow in your relationship with Christ by helping you to get to know Him
better.
